Silverthorne
Colorado offers real estate value and is known as "the gateway to
Summit County". Right off of the I 70 freeway, it is only about 60 miles, a
one hour's drive from the Denver metro area yet near all the area resorts
and attractions. The town was incorporated in 1967. It has been a
major part of Summit County Colorado's booming tourist industry. It's
close proximity to summer and winter activities make the town a great place
to visit and live. Hikers can find majestic beauty and solitude on the
numerous trails through the White River National Forest. Bikers can pass
through the town on a paved bike trail that connects to the huge countywide
bike path system.
Summit County's four
world-class ski resorts, Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain and
Keystone are all within a few minutes of Silverthorne Colorado's real estate
opportunities. A recently completed 62,000 sq. ft.
Recreation Center offers an
abundance of indoor recreation and fitness for residents and visitors alike
at reasonable rates. The town is also known for its bargain shopping
areas. The Factory Outlet Stores, have over 70 brand name shops
are popular for fantastic values, quality, and selection.
The
Blue River and its second to none fly fishing and close proximity to the
Eagles Nest and Ptarmigan Wilderness areas make this an outdoors persons
perfect destination spot. All year round, Silverthorne offers wonderful
Colorado real estate investment opportunities in Summit County. The Blue
River runs right through the middle of town. It is designated as a Gold
Medal trout stream. It has some of the best trout fishing in the entire
state. Gold Medal designations are rare and go only to the highest quality
rivers, streams and lakes in the state. Out of the entire 6,000 miles of
trout streams in the state, only 158 miles and three lakes, can boast the
designation of Gold Medal. While the fishing is great, Gold Medal fishing is
“catch and release” only. Want to own a piece of paradise?

think. You can

actually is.
A Little History: The town is
the name sake of Colorado's Judge Silverthorne, known as the "hanging
judge". He was an early Summit County settler and judge from the late 1800's
known for his "no nonsense" ways. Silverthorne's real estate was actually a
convenient place to move buildings to from the old site of the town of
Dillon. The town of Dillon had to be moved in order to allow for the new
Lake Dillon reservoir which was to supply Denver with water. Dam
construction began in 1964. The old Dillon site is now at the deepest spot
in lake. The original post office and general store were both moved from old
Dillon. The Old Dillon Inn Mexican restaurant, known for its neon "BA" sign,
was also relocated from the old Dillon.
The Eisenhower Tunnel, which
eliminated the need to go over Loveland Pass to get to Summit County from
Denver, was finished in 1973. The Tunnel goes through the Continental Divide
near Loveland Pass and Loveland Ski area. The tunnel links the real estate
in Silverthorne
Colorado's Summit county with Denver via I 70 as well as many major ski
resorts. With the boom in snow skiing during the late 60's, real estate in
The town became the local community for the seasonal workers who were
employed by Summit County's ski industry. These ski areas include
Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, Arapahoe Basin, Vail and
Beaver Creek. The new interstate also opened
the way for many commercial businesses including City Market, Summit County
Factory Stores and many others.
Silverthorne Colorado real estate owners
enjoy a great lifestyle due to the unique mountain town environment,
restricted growth, and abundant outdoor activities for all age groups.
Life is short, we strongly encourage all that feel the same way to take
advantage the opportunity to be an owner of Colorado's Silverthorne real

is a decision that pays life changing dividends for generations to come.
Invest in yourself, your family and your future life style with
