Stage transit service. This helps make it a major Summit County focal point
for a great vacation 12 months a year. You too can live here. We pay you to
buy Frisco, Colorado
real estate with buyer rebates and financing incentives.
Frisco Colorado's real estate history began
hundreds of years ago with the Ute Indians who first traveled the region now
known as Summit County. The first white men to come were known as "mountain
men" who trapped beaver in the high mountain lakes, streams and rivers of
the area. The
mountain men trapped in this territory from about 1810 to the 1840s.
The
1860s - 1870s brought in gold, silver and copper mining to the Summit County
area. Town real estate in Frisco Colorado was founded in 1873 by Henry Recen. The Town quickly developed thanks in part to the Summit county area's many mines. By
1882 the permanent population reached a whopping 250 people with two
railroads, many businesses, hotels and saloons, not to mention the numerous
area mines. The mining boomed lasted until 1918. The small town struggled to
hold on as a viable community.
Just like the rest of this
great country, the town and
real estate of Frisco Colorado was hit hard by the Great Depression. By 1930
the town's permanent population had dropped to only about 18 people.
It
was one of the few old mining towns to keep on going despite the odds against
it. Many of the smaller and less accessible mining towns became ghost towns.
The remnants of which are scattered and still visible around Summit and surrounding
counties. Frisco "kept on keeping on" and by 1946 the population had increased
to 50 again. In part, due to real estate, Frisco Colorado, with a current population of just under 2,800
full-time residents, remains a peaceful town with a generous sprinkling of
summer time tourists. The ski industry - which now attracts over 3 million
people a year to the Summit County area brought in a new
boom.
